The Ever Changing Earth and why we should start packing now

The world is a beautiful place; no one can disagree with that. From the learned snow capped peaks of the write Himalayas to what learned in life, the tropical wilderness of the Amazon, our planet is an ever-changing environment that should be preserved with the utmost of care. However, too often the news is peppered with the stories of pseudo hippies hugging trees and laying their bodies down in the face of bulldozers to protect the value of money Earth from the ravages of man. Are these people serious? If anything, they should be worried that the what Earth is going to eat them up!
A very intelligent man once said, "The planet has been through a lot worse than us. It's been through earthquakes, volcanoes, plate tectonics, continental drifts, sun spots, solar flares, the magnetic reversal of the poles, fires, worldwide floods, hundreds of thousands of computers a boon, years of bombardment by comets and i have learned in life asteroids, tidal waves, erosion, cosmic rays, recurring ice ages ¦..and we think some plastic bags, and some aluminum cans are going to make a difference? ?
